Spartans Have Strong Showing at USATF Junior Olympics

The Silver Spring Spartans qualified 29 athletes for the USA Track & Field Junior Olympic Championships, including 11 medal winners.

The Silver Spring Spartans qualified 29 athletes for the USA Track & Field Junior Olympic Championships, including 11 medal winners. Tiersa Harrington placed 2nd in the 200 Meter Dash, 5th in the 400 Meter Dash and a member of the 8th place 400 Meter Relay. Other members of the Midge Girls 400 Meter Relay include Bianca Davis, Mikeahla Connor and Shannon Ford.

The Intermideate Boys 400 Meter Relay composed of Washington Farrington, Justin Thompson, Darius Harris and Ryen Nelson placed 5th.

Other medalists include Kaya Senaya placing 6th in the Young Women's 100 Meter Dash; Keith Ingram placing 3rd in the Young Men's 100 Meter Dash and 6th in the 200 Meter Dash and Jsiah Gray placing 5th in the 400 Meter Hurdles.

Overall the Spartans collected 14 medals. These kids did a fine job representing themselves, their coaches, the Spartans Track Club, The Silver Spring Center, the City of Milwaukee and the State of Wisconsin.
