Wisconsin Natives Compete at USA Indoor Track & Field Championships

Wisconsin Runner Racing Team wins the Distance Medley Relay

(Boston, MA ) 03/01/09 – The Wisconsin Runner Racing Team won the Men’s Distance Medley Relay in The USA Indoor Track And Field Championships at the Reggie Lewis Track & Athletic Center in Boston Massachusetts with a time of 9:48.06. The team of Ryan Kleimenhagen (Oak Creek/UW-Platteville), Josh Slamka (Racine Horlick/UW-Parkside), Nicholas Ver Duin (Howards Grove/UW-Stevens Point) and Tommy Schmitz (Mineral Point/Marquette University) easily outdistanced the second place Syracuse Chargers Track Club whom finished in 10:03.16.

In Saturday’s individual competition Tommy Schmitz also placed eighth in the Men’s 1500 Meter Run with a 3:49.01 clocking while WRRT’s Ann Detmer (Lodi/University of Wisconsin) finished 14th in the Women’s 3000 Meter Run at 9:24.11.
