Kingstad set a new World Masters record in the pole vault (M55) at the Pole Vault Summit in Reno, NV January 4-5, 2008.  He vaulted 4.11 meters bettering the old record by 1 cm.

Two weeks later he enters the Badger Track Classic at the University of Wisconsin, January 11-12, 2008.  Kingstad is a former Badger track athlete and Big 10 standout from the early 1970s.  How fitting that he come home to the Shell on the University of Wisconsin campus to break his own World Record, clearing 4.12 meters.

I was fortunate enough to witness the vault, to hear the energy from the crowd as he sprinted down the run way and see the excitement on Jeff's face after clearing the bar.  You could see in his eyes he knew he got the Record before landing on the mats.  Watching the attempt and how easily he cleared the height, he's not done raising the bar.
