The 2008 USATF Junior Olympic Region VIII Outdoor Track & Field Championships. July 10-13, 2008.



General Information
The 2008 USA Track & Field Region VIII Outdoor Track & Field Junior Olympic Championships will be held July 10-13 at Carroll College in Waukesha, Wisconsin.  The host web site is http://www.cc.edu.  Directions to the site are available on the Carroll College web site, http://www.cc.edu/campus/directions.asp?nav=5212.  Information about their facilities is available here, http://athletics.cc.edu/sports/facilities/default.asp#quadgraphics

Junior Olympic Program
Those unfamiliar with the Junior Olympic Program are encouraged to download and carefully read the "Junior Olympic Guide" available on this web site.  The document is specific to the Wisconsin Association but there is information available for the Region VIII and National Championship meets.  The document is available here http://www.wiusatf.org/home/Downloads/Downloads_GetFile.aspx?id=126.

Entry Information
The Region VIII meet is the second meet in a series to the USA Track & Field Junior Olympic Championships being held in Nebraska.  Athletes must qualify for the Region meet through their Association Championships.  Entries to the Region VIII Championships are due Wednesday July 2 and will be posted on this web site in the Downloads section no later than Thursday July 3.

Athletes, parents and coaches are highly encouraged to verify their entries on the web site.  If there is a problem with your entries into the Region VIII meet contact your Association's youth chairperson.

The Region VIII Passport has vital information regarding the meet.  Please download a copy of this document and read it carefully. Event Schedule
The Region VIII Event Schedule is available for download http://www.wiusatf.org/home/Downloads/Downloads_GetFile.aspx?id=131.  Athletes are required to declare their intent to participate for all running events no later than 45 minutes prior to the scheduled start of their event.  Failure to declare will result in withdrawl from the event.  Please read the Passport for additional information.

Lodging Information
There are numerous hotels in and around Waukesha.  A short list is available for download http://www.wiusatf.org/home/Downloads/Downloads_GetFile.aspx?id=132.  Milwaukee is a short drive from Waukehsa on I-94 and has many hotel options.

    The Mountain/Ultra/Trail Running (MUT) Council of long distance running has named the 2009 USATF Mountain Runners of the year, Ultra Runners of the Year, and Contributor of the Year. Individuals will be recognized at the USATF National Convention.
